New-boy Dimitar Berbatov has expressed his confidence that the club can achieve a higher Premiership position than they did last year to qualify for the Champions League.

He said: “We’ve played many pre-season friendlies and the most encouraging thing was that we’ve won all of them but one,”

“I know there are no easy games but I’m confident we’ll start with a win over Bolton on Saturday.

“We have very good players and I think we can finish among the top four teams and qualify for the Champions League.”
