Tottenham manager Martin Jol has praised the performances of his team during pre-season following their 2-1 victory over Spanish club Real Sociedad.
The win gives Spurs their seventh win this summer and keeps them undefeated coming into the new campaign.
Jol said: “Last season we did well, didn’t lose a game and this summer has been the same, it couldn’t have gone much better”
“It doesn’t mean anything in terms of results in pre-season but it’s always a good sign if you can win games, especially with a lot of players and we’ve used a lot of players in pre-season. A few players completed their second 90-minute games as well, so that was good.”
When asked about the individual performances of his team Jol added: “Jermain is looking sharp and scoring goals and that’s what we want from him.
“I was happy with Aaron Lennon playing in two roles - on the right and in the hole - and that was something I liked.”
“Robbie Keane wasn’t available to play in that role and we missed five players with Ledley King, Teemu Tainio, Andy Reid and Wayne Routledge out as well.
“We have to work on one or two things but quality-wise I think we’re getting there and we showed again that we can win games using the full squad.”

Wigan full-back Pascal Chimbonda is not confident that a deal will not be secured for his move to Tottenham Hotspur due to The Lactics £6million asking price.
Chimbonda said: “I cannot see a deal happening now because of the money Wigan are looking for me,”
“I was told when I signed my new contract in January they would not stand in my way if a top club came calling for me.
“That is the reason I signed the new deal and let them take out my release [clause].
“I could have left in January but I decided to stay on and help Wigan.”
Chimbonda added: “I came to Wigan even though I could have joined Marseille because I wanted to play in the Premiership as it is the place to be.
“It is has always been my ambition to play for a top club and also play in Europe.
“If the club do not want to sell me, maybe they will give me a new contract worthy of a player they value so highly.”

Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner has made a successful return from injury.
The defender said: “I was delighted to be back out there, getting my legs moving again in a game situation and getting my rhythm back.
“It’s never ideal to have an injury in pre-season although I suppose getting it now is better than when the season has actually started. At least I can get some kind of fitness again before the start of the season.
“I feel good at the moment, had no problems injury-wise at Fisher and I’m raring to go now.”
