Lee Young-Pyo

Wing-back Lee Young Pio is still being linked with a move to Serie side Roma.

Lee, 29, was close to completing a move to the Stadio Olympico over the summer but decided against it for religious reasons.

Another move by the Giallorossi in January might tempt the Korean international as he has been struggling to get a starting spot in the Spurs team this season.

Spurs full-back Lee Young-pyo has rejected a transfer to Serie A side AS Roma to stay in London.

The South Korean star confirmed that the reason behind his decision was a personal one but not related to religion as was earlier reported in the press.

He said: “I changed my mind for personal reasons,”

“I will explain in more detail when I arrive in Korea but it had nothing to do with religion.”

The agent of Lee Young-Pyo has confirmed that his client is on his way to Serie A side Roma.

Agent Chin Sung-Won said: ‘Tottenham and AS Roma have agreed in principle to the transfer of Lee Young-Pyo,’

‘We are in talks with Roma on detailed contract terms.’

‘You can consider the deal as almost sealed, as the only remaining procedure is the player’s decision,’
