Lane Gossip

Fulham manager Chris Coleman has us that £5 million will not be enough to land winger Luis Boa Morte .

Coleman said: “The message to Spurs or anybody else interested in our captain is if they’re seriously interested they have to make a serious offer,”

“A serious offer for Luis Boa Morte isn’t £5 million. We haven’t had an offer that’s anywhere near what his price is.

“If they are interested in him they’ll have to pay. Bear in mind Gary McSheffrey went from Coventry to Birmingham for £4 million. He’s a good player in The Championship, but has no Premiership experience.

“Compare him with Boa Morte - a lad who has played over 250 games in The Premiership over the last five years and a Portuguese international.

“The price would have to be big to lose a player of Boa’s class.

“If someone offered a staggering amount of money for Boa, then I’d have to ask the chairman how much can I have back to invest in other players.

“From a football side I wouldn’t want to sell him at any price, but I have to tell the chairman what has been offered.

“We could maybe invest in two or three new players with the money, but it would have to be a lot of money to sell Boa.”

Tottenham are reportedly watching the progress of Southampton defender Gareth Bale.

Bale, 17, is a full Welsh international and has already appeared for the Saints this term.

Player agent Bastianelli said: “Oba has requests from Tottenham, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Valencia,”

“Martins feels very close to Inter and Moratti, but it seems clear that we have to find a solution after the club signed Crespo.”

“There are offers on the table, but the player has yet to be placed on the transfer list. We are in continual contact with the club.”

The Papers are today linking favourite Mido to a dramatic return to White Hart lane this summer.

Marty is still looking for a fourth striker to add to his squad and what a signing it would be for the club.

Lets hope he can persuade him to return although we still have to land a defender prior to kick off also.

Tottenham Hotspur director Daniel Levy is apparently preparing to make a move for Wigan full-back Pascal Chimbonda.

The deal, which is believed to include a cash amount, plus both Danny Murphy and Ireland international Andy Reid, could see Lactics manager Paul Jewell finally accept a bid for the French international.

Spurs have already had a £3.5million offer rejected by Wigan earlier this summer.

West Brom manager Bryan Robson has made 21-year-old defender Curtis Davies his new captain at the club.

Robson said: “I’ve made him captain because of his character. He’s grown up very quickly in the last couple of years.”

Is this guy all he is cracked up to be?????

Carrick will apparently sign £50,000-a-week four year deal at Old Trafford.
